What is Knot?

When you split your work across multiple AI tools, each AI usually starts from zero or relies on a flat pile of old chat notes. Knot carries relevant, vetted context about you and your projects across every AI you authorize:

  • Connect once over MCP + OAuth 2.1: Add https://api.connectknot.com/mcp (MCP Registry ID com.connectknot/knot) to the AIs you already use. Nothing to copy and paste.
  • Governed supersession (one current version when plans change): When a decision or constraint changes from v1 to v2, Knot supersedes the outdated note so your AIs act on the current governing rule rather than stale history.
  • Cross-AI handoffs & Shared Team Knots: Make a decision in Claude and pick it up in Cursor or ChatGPT on your next prompt, or share vetted takeaways with teammates without forwarding raw chat logs.

  2. Approve access with OAuth 2.1: Choose whether each AI can read context (context:read), propose updates (context:propose), or contribute directly to a project Knot (context:contribute:project).
  3. Work across AIs without starting over: Ask your AI to read your Knot or save a decision; your other connected AIs immediately see the updated governing state.
